From my understand BTV is "suppose" to add several "local" channels. I'm assuming once the "receiver swap" is done and they switch their HD line up to MPEG4 most likely you'll see CBC HD Winnipeg added.Its only a matter of time.

+1 on CBC Winnipeg HD on Bell for the same reason (Jets). And while they are at it they should add CBC Ottawa HD for the Sens games.

However, with the signal finally available OTA in Winnipeg I did pick up a small indoor antenna on Saturday at the local circuit city and connected it to my 9242. After a quick scan it found CBC Winnipeg HD and I was able to watch the 7-1 thrashing of the Jets in full HD through my Bell receiver (with PVR functionality).

Just did the same. $10 Phillips antenna from Princess Auto...5 digital channels on a 9242...anywhere from 60 to 75 signal strength with very little effort. BB in N Kildonan.

I tried OTA but i live in Stonewall. Can get every other OTA signal except CBC Winnipeg.

I did just see something that along with the new french channels to be added on Thursday that the following new HD channels are expected to launch:

Animal Planet HD
Discovery Science HD
Investigation Discovery HD

Not sure about channel numbers or any truth to this.

Check out Channel 271, they are all listed there.

i'm not in front of my tv at the moment pinza.
bell.ca lists a bunch of channels on preview starting this month on the 12th and 19th, but nothing starting or being launched on thursday the 15th.

Hopefully the info about Animal Planet and the 2 Discovery channels is accurate, even if it's not on Thursday but on Monday I for one welcome all three of those.

Here are the three french channels expected to launch tomorrow:

TVA Sports (193 SD, 1883 HD sat)
Yoopa (188 SD)
Mlle (194 SD)

Apparently showed up at 10, but yoopa seemed to have gone to channel 144.

Sun News is SD only, on channel 506 I think, has been there for about two weeks. It looks like the 2 new Discovery channels and Animal Planet HD were only for Fibetv, not Bell satellite yet.

Real bummer about the 2 Discovery channels and Animal Planet. Fibe also has Speed HD I believe. Real shame.
