Had a yellow notice stuck in my door today from Cogeco stating within the next 2-3 weeks they will be upgrading our cogeco cable system. Could this be we'll finally be seeing the full HD lineup in Peterborough!?

Keep us posted as to any improvements in channel offerings, particularly HD. I would be go back to COGECO just for the Super Sports Pak provided there are more HD offerings and a good picture.

Anyone with an update on the HD situation in Peterborough?
I talked to customer service last week after receiving a Shaw flyer in the mail that offerred no less than 76 potential HD channels and 36 standard. Beats the hell out of the 13 (standard) we get with Cogeco. After complaining and asking for a contact that I could discuss the situation with, and getting nowhere, I was informed that Cogeco has done a great job in Kingston, Belleville and other points east and they are getting the full HD line-up now. Great to hear, let me tell you..... Anyway, after getting a discount on the HD box, I hung up none too satisfied. Anyone hear any rumours about the upgrade?

Today in the mail from Cogeco was a letter stating that before April 1 you need to let Cogeco know if you need any digital adapters and April 19 Analogue value pak service will no longer be available without the adapter. And the best news is that May 17 we will get the full hd lineup.

Today is the day Peterborough got the updated HD lineup. Most of them seem to be there, except I only have 464-467 for the SSP, when it should go all the way to 486. Also MExcess is 763 instead of what it was supposed to be (782) and MFun is on 764 instead of 783. That seems weird because the other Movie Network channels are 780, 781, 785 so the 2 new ones aren't near the others in the channel lineup.
Here is my current HD lineup 464-467 NHL CENTRE ICE HD 702 CBC HD 703 SRC HD 704 CITY HD 705 SUN HD 706 GLOBAL HD 707 CHCH HD 708 OMNI 1 HD 709 OMNI 2 HD 712 ABC E HD 713 CBS E HD 714 NBC E HD 715 PBS HD 716 FOX E HD 717 ABC W HD 718 CBS W HD 719 NBC W HD 720 FOX W HD 730 TSN HD 731 TSN2 HD 734 SPORTSNET ONTARIO HD 735 SPORTSNET EAST HD 736 SPORTSNET ONE HD 739 LEAFS TV HD 740 NBA HD 741 SCORE HD 742 SPEED HD 743 GOLF HD 744 CBS COLLEGE HD 752 MTIME HD 754 TLC HD 755 A&E HD 756 APTN HD 757 SHOWCASE HD 758 NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC HD 763 MEXCESS HD 764 MFUN HD 765 CBC NEWS HD 770 DISCOVERY WORLD HD 771 HDNET 780 TMN HD 781 HBO HD 785 MPIX HD 788 SUPER CHANNEL 1 HD 789 SUPER CHANNEL 2 HD 793 WGN HD 794 WPIX HD 795 KTLA HD 796 WSBK HD 799 PPV HD |

when is PTBO gonna get the updated HD channels? we dont have Family HD, YTV HD, History HD, Food HD, HGTV HD, and W HD like other markets have now. It is REALLY frustrating that Peterborough never gets anything ahead of anyone else....we also didn't get Disney XD channel 99. What is up with this?!

Yes you do, however, some of TV channels may be picked up unencrypted via a QAM tuner in the TV. See the following FAQ on the topic and the link therein to a thread specific to Cogeco, which seems to have different unencrypted channels depending on your location:
