Shaw Direct DSR630, DSR605 and atomic time - off?

Hi. Compared to various online, atomic time internet sites, and my cable company box, my Shaw Direct receivers are at least 25 seconds behind REAL, Atomic time.
Of course, this is messing up the start and end of recordings.
Where, who and how do we either reset our boxes (which I don't think will fix the problem) or find the correct contact person at Shaw to have a look at their internal time systems?

I thought of that, but considering all the price increases we're hit with, Shaw Direct needs to clean up their act. By starting early and ending early, then other recordings get dropped, and that’s not ok in my book.

Maybe that Shaw rep who reads here every day can elaborate?

If all the broadcast networks decided to be 25 seconds off, well, damn....

Interesting - I haven't heard of any other complaints on this. I'll have the technical teams take a look - time can differ slightly (or wildly in some cases) on a per transponder basis, so if you notice this on particular channels, it would be quite helpful (and appreciated!) if you could list them out.

EDIT for FYI: The Guide syncs nightly, not weekly.

EDIT: Good news, one of our senior Broadcast Specialists found the issue, has adjusted it and will be monitoring. Thank you for reporting!

Wonderful. I’ll keep an eye on it. It’s not one channel, it’s the readout on the front of the unit which is off-time. So, any recording is subject to the boxes time.
Do we have to reset our boxes? As I write this, at 11:35pm, est, my DSR630 is 28 seconds behind what NIST online time (the standard) notes. Same result with the NRC website. So it’s not fixed yet....

If a 630 has recordings stored on it, and the receiver is deactivated (removed from the account). Is it still possible to watch the recordings stored on it? Or do they get removed/locked out when the PVR is deactivated?

If the receiver is then activated on a new account, would the old recordings still be accessible?

I'm guessing the answer to both questions is that the recordings will be lost permanently, but I just want to verify.

If you disconnect the PVR from the dish, you can still watch the recordings. When we had our house fire, one of the things I rescued was the primary 630. Our rental had Bell Fibe, but I connected the 630 to the new TV and watched most of the recordings over the next year. And when we moved back and got Shaw reconnected, I re-connected the old 630 and it carried on as though nothing had happened, with recordings (and, more importantly, all the scheduling) intact.

Now, what happens if you re-attach the PVR to a whole new account is less clear. I'd expect the recordings to be there unless a factory reset was done as part of the reconnection.

Didn't know about the 3 button reboot mentioned after my original post. Definitely quicker, but you have to be fast on the buttons. The way I did it was through OPTIONS, Status, System Status, INFO and then scroll down to screen D. Lots of info in there that's above my pay grade, but it did give access to a reboot function.

630 record program AND switch to that channel??

I like to record and occasionally like to watch the Seth Meyers show live. It starts at 12:37am Tuesday through Saturday. It's not a problem setting my 630 to record the show but I don't know if there's a way to get the 630 to switch to that channel as well, other than multiple manual timers, I can't set a manual weekdays timer because it's after midnight. I know I could set a manual timer for every day but often there's a late night movie on the weekend I'd rather watch.

Thoughts?
