Thanks for the update. I ordered the CX-01 in my link and am waiting for it.

Are there any problems with any text/menus being in chinese? That is a problem I have noticed on some cheap electronics I have bought from China.

I haven't seen anything in chinese except a couple apps which i dumped. As far as issues with audio and video not syncing, i found that i had a bunch of other apps still running in the background. over all its good though i wish it ad a little more oomph but ya get what you pay for.

I have a mk802. This unit has a nice spec on paper (1G CPU, 1G RAM, Android 4.0) but the whole experience is not optimized - unless you want to hack.

1) Android 4.0 not optimized for TV. Lots apps rotate to horizontal automatically on start up so you better be able to rotate your plasma as well

2) there is no 5.1 audio support. DTS/AC3 got converted to 2.1

3) general slowness (network, app start/switch, browsing)

i agree totally, not sorry i got it but its a bit laggy or buggy. When i installed dolphin the first screen after download i believe was sideways but it did correct for the actual browser. It also blacks out sometimes, not reboot but something quicker- 1 or 2 seconds.

I am interested in the 1GB version of the MK802 - especially now that there is an XBMC port for android..

My WDTV Live is just awful now. It stutters, goes into FF by itself, pauses randomly. I am hoping this can be used as a nice substitute for the WDTV

Well the CX-01 arrived in the mail.

Hooked it up to my tv, hooked up a wireless mouse, and it runs great.

As expected, controlling a tv with a mouse is incredibly cumbersome. Does anyone know of any aps that would allow me to use my android tablet to control it?

The CX-01 comes with a lot of chinese crap installed, and I can't figure out how to uninstall it. When I go to the list of installed aps, it only shows the uninstall button for the aps that I installed since I got it, the ones that were preinstalled have no uninstall button. It's pretty annoying as some of the keys on the keyboard are chinese.

Hardware wise it's powerful enough to display high quality video, I installed Netflix and it runs fine. Looking for a good way to stream video from my pc to this, tried vlc player but it won't connect to my pc for some reason, it doesn't find it during a scan and when I enter my ip manually it won't connect either.

These really need to be re-visited, they appear to be higher performance, more memory

just got mine mk802+... use droidmote if you want to use a tablet or android phone for remote... and replace firmware with another... also xbmc is being worked on for the allwinner chipset... takes time..

netflix works fine.. use 1.8.1 ver... newer crashes.. also use tab apps.. less rotate errors...

but 40 bucks it be a fun project.
