EDIT: Bell Media reorganized their press releases around the end of Jan. 2015, so most of the links prior to that date won't work, but the press releases are still there if you search for them.

CTV announced today it has acquired 11 new series for its 2014/15 primetime schedule following the conclusion of the L.A. Screenings earlier this week. The new series, along with CTV and CTV Two’s 2014/15 primetime schedules, will be presented at the #CTVUpfront on Thursday, June 5 in Toronto.

CTV’s New 2014/15 Acquired Series:

AMERICAN CRIME (Mid-Season) - ABC Sun 9pm
CSI: CYBER (Mid-Season) - CBS Sun 10pm
THE FLASH - CW Tue 8pm
FOREVER - ABC Tue 10pm
GOTHAM - FOX Mon 8pm
HOW TO GET AWAY WITH MURDER - ABC Thu 10pm
MARVEL’S AGENT CARTER (Mid-Season) - ABC Tue 9pm
THE McCARTHYS - CBS Thu 9:30pm
THE MYSTERIES OF LAURA - NBC Wed 8pm
THE ODD COUPLE (Mid-Season) - CBS (time TBA)
SECRETS AND LIES (Mid-Season) - ABC Thu 10pm

Full Press Release including show descriptions.

Edit: I've included the U.S. network schedule to give us a hint about the CTV schedule for simsubs.

Right off he top, it looks like GOTHAM will conflict with BIG BANG THEORY when it's on Mondays and FOREVER will conflict with PERSON OF INTEREST. It really depends if they carry those 2 new shows on CTV or CTV Two.

If I get ambitious I might make a schedule grid of the new and renewed U.S. shows that CTV will carry.

Thanks sherds, I've been using http://www.thefutoncritic.com/guide/fall-2014-grid/ for about the last 5 years.

I took a look at http://bellmediapr.ca/Network/CTV/CTV-Upfront-2014 and noticed that CTV has also listed CBS's The Millers which will start Oct. 30 as well as TNT's Proof and TBS's Angie Tribeca for mid-season.

It looks like CTV wants to pair The Millers (which was on Global this past year) with CBS's The Big Bang Theory.

I've also listed the status of CTV shows that have been cancelled and renewed by their U.S. networks.

Cancelled
Believe (NBC)
Hostages (CBS)
Intelligence (CBS)
Mixology (ABC)
Surviving Jack (FOX)
The Neighbors (ABC)
The Tomorrow People (CW)
The X Factor (FOX)
Trophy Wife (ABC)

Renewed
American Idol (FOX)
Arrow (CW)
Blue Bloods (CBS)
Castle (ABC)
Criminal Minds (CBS)
CSI: Crime Scene Investigation (CBS)
Dancing with the Stars (ABC)
Grey's Anatomy (ABC)
Grimm (NBC)
Law & Order: Special Victims Unit (NBC)
Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (ABC)
Once Upon a Time (ABC)
Person of Interest (CBS)
Reign (CW)
Shark Tank (ABC)
The Amazing Race (CBS)
The Big Bang Theory (CBS)
The Following (FOX)
The Goldbergs (ABC)
The Mentalist (CBS)
The Vampire Diaries (CW)
The Voice (NBC)
Two and a Half Men (CBS)
Undercover Boss (CBS)

Here are the U.S. shows on CTV/CTV Two, assuming that they are keeping all the shows they had last year. I've shown the conflicts in red and haven't tried to predict how CTV will reschedule them or schedule any Canadian shows.

I've only listed the CTV Two shows that were on the schedule last year. I haven't put any new shows there, but there will probably be a few, particularly when there are conflicts.

One issue this year is that CBS is picking up Thursday Night Football until Oct, 23, so they are moving Big Bang Theory to Mondays for the early fall.

CTV usually has two days that they put a prime time show at 7.00, Sunday and either Wednesday or Thursday. This upcoming season, Sunday may not be necessary as one of the conflicting shows, The Amazing Race, moves to Friday. I mentioned Wednesday since it is a 3-show conflict. The other potential logjam is Thursday 8.00 starting November when The Big Bang Theory returns there. CTV2 already has Vampire Diaries there and thus Grey's Anatomy must find some place else to go.

Timeslot Sharing with Short-Order Series
CTV will also introduce in 2014/15 a collection of limited-run event series with reduced episode orders, and pair them with other series in the same timeslot. Programmed for continuity, the strategy delivers appointment television with more fresh content and less repeats:

Tuesdays at 9 p.m.: MARVEL’S AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D./AGENT CARTER/S.H.I.E.L.D.
Wednesdays at 10 p.m. GREY’S ANATOMY / SAVING HOPE / GREY’S ANATOMY
Thursdays at 9:30 p.m.: TWO AND A HALF MEN / THE ODD COUPLE
Thursdays at 10 p.m.: HOW TO GET AWAY WITH MURDER / SECRETS & LIES
Sundays at 9 p.m.: RESURRECTION / AMERICAN CRIME
Sundays at 10 p.m.: CSI / CSI: CYBER

SAVING HOPE returns this fall for Season 3 with an abridged, five-episode arc on Thursdays at 9 p.m. following GREY’S ANATOMY. Culminating with a cliffhanger finale this fall, 13 additional episodes will air mid-season, on Wednesdays at 10 p.m.

CTV will position the new Batman backstory series GOTHAM, airing Mondays at 8 p.m., with an incredible launch pad: for the first five weeks, GOTHAM will benefit from the lead-in audience of all-new episodes of THE BIG BANG THEORY at 7:30 p.m.

CTV’s highly-successful COMEDY NIGHT ON CTV Saturday-night comedy block returns with THE BIG BANG THEORY, ANGER MANAGEMENT, MIKE & MOLLY, and SPUN OUT.

As a result of the new Thursday comedy block, Canada’s #1 returning drama GREY’S ANATOMY moves to Wednesdays at 10 p.m., following Top 5 hit CRIMINAL MINDS.

Mid-season hit RESURRECTION, which went on to become the #2 new drama in America this year, joins the CTV schedule for its sophomore season, Sundays at 9 p.m.

As well, for the first time ever, the 4 p.m. Sunday NFL package comes to CTV this fall, following a multi-year broadcast extension that will see more NFL games on more Bell Media channels and platforms than ever before.

CTV also remains the home of television’s biggest event programming in 2014/15, including Canada’s most-watched television broadcasts THE 87th ACADEMY AWARDS, SUPER BOWL XLIX, THE 72nd ANNUAL GOLDEN GLOBE AWARDS, THE 66th PRIMETIME EMMY AWARDS, THE 2014 AMERICAN MUSIC AWARDS, THE 2015 JUNO AWARDS, and more.

Looks like we'll be seeing Grey's, Forever and The Goldbergs a day before they air on ABC, while we lose getting Once Upon A Time an hour before the US like we've always had.

And with DWTS on Sundays I'm assuming that's 6 days later than the US? I don't watch it but isn't there some live portion of it that basically means it has to air later if they can't simsub?

Edit: I just thought of something. If Forever fails on ABC, it'll get pulled from CTV as well. CTV could then realistically push Gotham back an hour to 7pm (like they did with The Tomorrow People this past season and Arrow in season 1) and air DWTS live Mondays 8-10.

Looks like Dr Dave edited his post a little with more information.
-Big Bang Theory moves to 7:30pm Mondays when CBS is airing it at 8pm Mondays.
-The Odd Couple will be in 2.5 Men's old timeslot on Thursdays at 9:30pm once Men finishes its short order this year. Has CBS announced this position yet?

jeffaustin90, yes I pasted the schedules to get the info up there quickly and extracted the key points from the press release a little later.

As predicted, CTV picked up The Millers to pair up with Big Bang Theory on Thursdays. Global didn't want it since it conflicted with "Bones". CTV also picked up Resurrection, which City TV dropped since it conflicts with their Sunday night hockey schedule.

When CTV has new episodes of Big Bang Theory on Mondays at 7:30ET for 5 weeks, they will screw up the Central time zone. (7:30ET is 6:30CT, which means those programs conflict with local news and will probably end up being shown after prime time (10:00 or 10:30CT). Winnipeggers will probably watch or record CBS.

Sadly all Canadian networks are infected with the CBS syndrome , always more with the same type of programming ,
with CBS it's countless police procedural/ crime drama,
with CTV it's comic and super heroes,
with Global it's police procedural/ crime drama
and the worst offender is City with reality/competitive shows

This is lame , nothing new and seems to expand every year :(

#25 ·
I do not know about the others, but I think City does that because those shows are cheap(er). On top of that, City will only do 2 hours of primetime starting next season, instead of 3 hours like CTV and Global do, and like it used to do. Like I wrote somewhere else, I guess that Rogers blow their programming budget on the new NHL contract.
