Default Skystar HD2 PCI Card Can't Tune DVB-S2 Channels on Windows 7

I am planning to use this PCI card to receive those NBC channels and feeds on 103W AMC1. But I found that the BDA driver on Windows 7 doesn't seem to support DVB-S2. and the driver is pretty old (dated 2009). Currently I can only watch DVB-S channels such as the beach cams. Anyone who has experience please help me. Thanks.

I found some download support for this product. I do not know if this correct website or not. Use at own risk.

List of improvements and bugfixes

- added support for Windows 7

Download can be found in the download tab.

good luck,

Strange, can it tune DVB-S2 transponders using WinXP?
What applications have you been using?

Have you tried this application?
Looks like that card is supported by Crazyscan.
Give it a whirl and see if it's able to Blindscan / lock on to known S2 TPs.

I haven't tried XP. I have tried DVBDream, DVBViewer(comes with the card), and Media Center on Windows 7 64-bit. All of them can watch DVB-S channels only.

When I tried this Crazyscan, it said Qt4core.dll missing. I need to search for this file.

I fixed two issues and finally were able to get a lock on TP 11760. There are NBC Mountain and NBC West on it. But I have more issues:

1. Although I get a strong signal on 11760 (quality 98%), I failed to get any signal on other DVB-S2 TPs, such as 11880. Is 11760 stronger than others? What is your result?

2. I now can watch the two NBC channels on DVBDream and DVBViewer. But I prefer to watch them on Windows media center. It appears that WMC has DVB-S2 support but its transponder list looks very out-dated. I still need to figure out a way to change it. Anyone who has experiences to make those channel work in WMC?

What two issues did you fix?

What is the S/N reported by Crazyscan?
Sorry I can't help with Windows issues.
With the exception of occasional playin with Crazyscan in Win7, I spend most of my time in linux. If you can receive one ya should be able to receive them all. Keep playin around you'll figure it out.

Majortom, I adjusted the skew and manually changed the transponder parameters such as modulation(DVB-S2, 8PSK), symbol rate, etc. I found that network search didn't work on this satellite, i.e. after I got the beach cam TP, I didn't get all other TPs.

It seems Crazyscan doesn't support my card. The Scan button is greyed out. What card are you using?

I found a great way to watch these channels: first schedule recordings in DVBViewer, then watch from Windows media center. But there are some down sides:
1. There is no EPG. Is there a Ku EPG TP on this bird?
2. You can't watch the program that is being recorded.

How do you guys watch TV?

There is usually no EPG with FTA, from I have seen.

usually, the same show appears at the same time from week to week.

AKA
Hayat Bih & Hayat (97W, mpeg4) sat have "ninja warrior" at 6 & 7 EST each evening, Dubbed in Bosnian.

Al-Iraqi has a random english (subtitled in arabic) movie around 6 EST each week day.

You sortta learn when your shows are on.

Good luck,
Al

Anyone knows which media player can play the four audio tracks of those NBC channels at the same time? I can now record all the audiotracks but can only play one of them at a time.
