Using unlocked telus phone in US - Canadian TV, Computing and Home Theatre Forums

Sorry if this is obvious to some of you, but I havn't found a clear answer to these questions with multiple searches.

Going to be in the US (WA & CA) for the month of July. Want to use my unlocked Telus iPhone 4 for data, texting, GPS and some voice.

Where can I obtain a micro sim? Can I get it online in advance? Is there a cost? Does it matter what carrier in the US I use?

Can I then just add a data/text/voice plan to the card. Can I buy that in advance?

Or pick up a sim card from T-Mobile once you get there. I use TMO in the US and it works great with great rates on pay/go

^^You'd be stuck on EDGE speeds using an iPhone on T-Mobile.
