I've been running Windows XP on my MBP for the better part of 2 years now. VirtualBox works flawlessly (and the price is right!).
While I've not played any games in the VM, it has handled everything else I've thrown at it quite nicely. That being said, my preference is always to use a native OS X app when available. |

I have been using Parallels Desktop for a couple of years and the last versions work very well with Windows 7. I still prefer to turn off some of the Windows eye candy to help with speed and battery, but considering there aren't a lot of software that I HAVE to run on Windows, it's more than adequate.

I wanted to thank everyone for their advice. I greatly appreciate it. Still don't know what I will do for sure, but most likely I will buy a MBP
