Default Bev, 2 Tuner Install

Have 2 Legacy LNBFs with 4 coax running to a SW44. From the SW44 have 2 coax to a 2 tuner 9241, 1 coax to a 6131. Have a new 9241(dual tuner) but only have the 1 coax to it. It only partially works. Tried the PP separator but it will not work. SW44 only has the 4 receiver feeds. Anyone help to get the new 9241 working. Thanks

shortnrj, you will have to upgrade to a DPP dual lnb and a DPP44 switch if you want to use the DPP seperator, as it's not compatible with legacy lnbs and switches. If you don't want to use a DPP44 switch, you can get a DPP quad lnb that has 4 outputs unlike the DPP dual which has 2 outputs.

In every instance that Witchdoctor says "DPP Dual" he means "DPP Twin", a DPP Dual only looks at 1 Satellite, whilst the Twin looks at 2.

You have a few options, some as mentioned;

Swap out the Legacy LNBF's, SW44 and Power Supply Inserter with a DPP Twin LNBF, DPP 44 switch and at least 1 DPP Separator.

Swap out the Legacy LNBF's, SW44 and Power Supply Inserter with a DPP Quad LNBF, and at least 1 DPP Separator.

or Add a second SW44 by following this thread;

From that link, he would only have to add two splitters (one from sat. 91 and one from sat.82) and a SW21 instead of another SW44, to add another output to his 6131. Use the SW44 for the two 9241s but yeah another SW44 would allow for more future receivers or
as you say and what I would do, just swap out the legacy LNBFs for a DPP Quad LNBF and a DPP separator.

Will the Yoke that holds 2 legacy LNBFs also work for mounting the Quad LNBF?

I only see 4 receivers listed there...

A DPP Twin and a DPP44 would work, so would a DPP Quad.

Ok, hoping someone could tell me how they would want to set up my new system with the receiver swaps. I've got a 9242, and 2 9241's. I have 4 lines coming in from my dish outside and an SW44 switch. What do i need to do now to get all my receivers working?

They would most likely install a DPP Quad, and get rid of the SW44.

Default BELL TV 3100 receivers

One of my alarm customers currently has 3 3100 sat receivers connected to a sw44 switch and would like to have the legacy lnb's and the SW44 replaced with a DPP quad (I hope I used the proper terms), and then have a line run for a 4th 3100 set. Will the 3100 receivers work with the DPP equipment??

I've managed to glean some info about the DPP equipment from this and other forums, but the last time I did any serious sat installs, BEV was only using the legacy equipment and the 3100's were brand new. ( I've only installed 1 3200 and too many refurb 2700's during the 3 years I was an EXPRESS SERVE tech.)

Yes you can use the quad to feed 4 3100's without issue, as these receivers are Dish Pro compatible, which also means they are backwards compatiable with Dish Pro Plus, the plus only adds the functionality of Dual tuners being fed by a DPP seperator and a single cable run

(Software was added to all DP and DPP receivers to ensure they support the DPP Quad) of course excluding legacy Equipment
