mute text being shown when watching cable - Canadian TV, Computing and Home Theatre Forums

I have an 8642 HD PVR and for some reason the "mute" text is constant in the top right corner of my screen.

I figure it's an issue with my cable box because I don't see that text on any other input on my TV

Any ideas on how to get rid of this annoying text?

go into the audio settings on your stb, change it from variable to fixed
