* Boston "Hitch a Ride"
* Boston "More Than a Feeling"
* Boston "Peace of Mind"
* Boston "Rock & Roll Band"
* Boston "Smokin'"
* Boston "Something About You"
I am absolutely getting the Boston pack. That's amazing. Rock Band has really separated itself from Guitar Hero. I think Harmonix planned very well when they gave control to Activision.
Six big songs in the Boston pack.
Had to load up more points for the hefty 800 point price, but worth it.
Rocked out with the kids to "More Than A Feeling" this morning.
I've got a 'fro wig that gives me the Sib Hashian look!
Really enjoyed playing "More than a feeling". What a great song. I have a Wii and and Xbox and I'm glad I didn't wait for the Wii version. One of the best parts of Rock Band is the downloads.
Rock Band DLC is so addicting, I have spent way too much money on it
Metallica "Ride the Lightning"
Metallica "Blackened"
Metallica "And Justice for All"
Queens of the Stone Age "3's and 7's"
Queens of the Stone Age "Little Sister"
Queens of the Stone Age "Sick Sick Sick"
The Knack "My Sharona"*
Weezer "Buddy Holly"
30 Seconds to Mars "Attack"
30 Seconds to Mars "The Kill"
All-American Rejects "Dirty Little Secret"
All-American Rejects "Move Along"
The Sounds "Song with a Mission"
Iron Maiden "Number of the Beast"*
Blink 182 "All the Small Things"
Oasis "Wonderwall"
Paramore "Crushcrushcrush"
I've bought all those so far and it is taking all my strength not to get the Boston pack....
The DLC IS very addicting. I would say I've spent approx $80 on it so far.
It's interesting, because I didn't really have any real motivation to buy either Rock Band (or Guitar Hero). I heard about it, but thought to myself... how much would I really enjoy playing a 'toy' guitar (knowing how to play a real one casually, this didn't appeal to me)
I have to say though, I am very surprised the amount of fun it is. My daughter can't get enough, and I don't want to put it down when I pick it up. lol
The DLC continues to add longevity bigtime to the game(s)
I played the Boston songs last night... got my fix...
HMX usually announces the next week's DLC on Friday afternoon. Today they said that the latest announcement will not come until Monday. Let the wait begin!
This week we have a special present for you in celebration of April Fool's Day. For $0 (0 Microsoft Points) you can download-
"Still Alive" by GlaD0s and Jonathan Coulton (master)
Due to work Sony is doing on their store they won't be adding new material for a couple weeks so this won't release on PlayStation Store this week. When they go back up with new material in a few weeks, though, it will be there lovingly waiting for you. For free. I'll post something up here when it is available on that platform.
It will be available on Xbox360 on April 1st.
Also special thanks to Valve and to Jonathan Coulton for helping to make this happen. You rule.
Those are great tracks after a couple of weeks of lacklustre songs (just my opinion!)... but can't wait to download them and play them later today.
On a related note but different game, Guitar Hero III will be releasing its April pack next week which will feature Def Leppard's "Rock of Ages", "Photograph", and the new single "Nine Lives".
Really glad I decided not to wait for the wii version of Rockband and picked up and XBox... the DLC really adds to the value of the game. Just picked up another 2,800 MS points yesterday so bring it on...!
On April 15th for Xbox 360 and April 17th for Playstation 3 , we will be releasing Mötley Crüe's new single “Saints of Los Angeles". This will make the Crüe the first ever band to release a single through our game. More info below.
“Saints of Los Angeles” by Mötley Crüe (master)
It will cost $0.99 (80 Microsoft Points) for a limited time.
Meh. I might get it, just to encourage more bands to release stuff on Rock Band. Maybe this is a quid pro quo thing that means HMX gets to release a classic MC song in the future...
We're proud to unleash our first full album upon the masses- Judas Priest's 1982 classic Screaming For Vengeance! All tracks will be available separately for $1.99 (160 Microsoft Points), or as a whole album for $14.99 (1200 Microsoft Points). Full press release here.
All the following tracks are by Judas Priest and are masters-
“The Hellion/Electric Eye”
“Riding on the Wind”
“Bloodstone”
“(Take These) Chains”
“Pain and Pleasure”
“Screaming for Vengeance”
“You’ve Got Another Thing Comin’”
“Fever”
“Devil’s Child”
We're also happy to announce two more albums that are in the pipeline and coming in the near future- The Cars album The Cars and the Pixies Doolittle.
Stay tuned! We'll have updates on upcoming DLC soon, including The Who, as information becomes available.
I was going through bands in my head that I would like to have some content from, and The Cars was near the top of my list. The only JP song I recognized from that track list was Another Thing Comin', which was a favourite of mine on Guitar Hero 1. I'll have to check out previews of the others before I spring for the whole album...
